Edité par France 24

In his new book, "From Deep State to Islamic State: The Arab counter-revolution and its jihadi legacy", Filiu explains how power-hungry Arab dictators, backed by loyal security elites, turned a people's revolution against the people.

Note
  • What went wrong with the Arab Spring? Jean-Pierre Filiu, a historian, author and professor of Middle Eastern studies at Sciences Po here in Paris, says what we are witnessing today is a counter-revolution whose brutality surpasses anything even he, as a historian, had imagined.
