Note
  • Nicolas Hénin is an independent French reporter and the author of a new book in French, "Jihad Academy", in which he traces the rise of Islamic extremism in Iraq and Syria. Hénin draws largely on the ten months he spent as a hostage of the Islamic State group in Syria. The book is an indictment of the West's approach to fighting extremists, which he says is a litany of errors.
