Bangladesh: Is NGO BRAC a parallel state?

Pinaki ROY | Surabhi TANDON

Edité par France 24

A programme prepared by Patrick Lovett, Elom Marcel Toble and Claire Pryde.

Note
  • In this edition we go behind the scenes of the world's largest NGO. The Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee, or BRAC, was set up in 1972. Now it has offices in a dozen countries, working on everything from tackling poverty to empowering women, while also providing health and banking services. But as Surabhi Tandon reports, questions have been raised about the way BRAC operates, blurring the lines between "classic" NGOs and corporations.
