The Emerald Isle is going to the polls, after the Green Party pulled out of the coalition government. Elections had been set for March, following Taoiseach Brian Cowen's announcement that he would stand down as leader of the ruling Fianna Fail party. But the vote is now expected to be held much earlier, leaving the government in a panic to push through their finance Bill before the Dail, the Irish Parliament, is dissolved.
